Pretty cool to see all the different things other guys are up to. Nice to see how you guys are making money. I am a small shop and do some field work. I have ASME R stamp and do some structural stuff also, so we do so many different things in any giving week. Its nice to keep it mixed up if we can.

Well, it actually took 3 days, I just finished it TODAY. I only get the opportunity to do welding one day a week. My REAL job of managing a lumberyard pays the bills.
Anyway, a local eye clinic recently installed solar panels on the their roof, and miscreants keep steeling the electronics that are on the wall.
This will hopefully slow them down.
96" wide, 65" tall, 18" deep, with double doors.

Great projects! Has anyone built a welding screen? Typically a steel frame with either heavy canvas or some other type of dark burn resistant material so your welding flash and grinding sparks don't fly out of your work area. I was thinking of building some for my garage shop, need some ideas!

You can get those screens at Northern or Harbor Fraud, and then I would just build a small 1x1 square tube frame for them!

This is a table I built for a co-worker. It will have a black granite top left over from his remodeling project.
He plans to have it powder-coated a charcoal gray.

I have a 4x10 welding table and am building a 5x10 at school. I am going to build a screen that sits on top of my table. It will be about 30" tall and about 8 feet long. It will have posts that I can move around the table, and build my screen to fit the project to keep from flashing people. I hope this makes sense. The posts will have a heavy base so they are free standing and easily moved around the table. It could be like a ping pong table net or three sided walls around a project what ever configuration you need.
Maybe someone else has done this and can explain it better.

Car hauler, I don't like the fenders we put on it. We put plain sheet metal fenders on it, think it would look much better with some steel diamond plate fenders on it.

You can always put a magnifying lense in your helmet. It made a world of difference for me.

Its for a tool we sell called a Knucklemate. Usually the studs are only mig welded from one side, but the customer wants some with smaller pins. The way they are machined left a bit of a gap with the washers we use and one side has a sharp corner/reduced diameter where some material was removed for the smaller diameter. Just had to fill the gap and fill the corner in some so it doesn't lose as much strength compared to normal size. Until we have a large order of them its cheaper to modify pins we have vs having them made like they should be.

i re-purposed some discarded privacy screens from the prison hospital and attached a piece of that blue translucent protective stuff they use for weld booths. it's even got wheels so it's very portable. thankfully i'm nowhere near my shop till next week or i'd post a pic.

I broke the handle on my rubber mallet the other day and have been wondering how to fix it if I even can fix it.

I DID wrap the handles in a good 1/8" of electrical tape... otherwise hitting a knot would ring yer bell...
I only use them for chopping up kindling wood.
