Very elegant. I go to the garage or cellar to avoid the damned candles.

This is where I left the last column base I was welding on when the whistle blew. First thing Monday morning I'll make those two full pen welds before having the bridge crane flip it over and doing the other side.

    AK,

I'd say you've got it dialed in. Very pretty stick work.

Eutectic's brand name for ER312. Have you tried other 312 rods?

That seems like it would warp really bad with all the heat input. Looks nice though!

Steller welding - you have all the right colors . . .

But why a full perimeter weld - when 1/4th- the
    inches would have been structural?

    Thanks for the compliments!

It is my company's policy to to weld all the way around when the item is to go into a product contact area or hold things that are product contact. By welding all the way around, bacteria can't get into the small seams (in theory). I work for a MAJOR food company so some rules are kinda stupid.....

1" stitch welds every 6" or so with cooling time allowed between welds, as well as a TON of tacks. I am actually impressed with how little they ended up warping.

No I haven't, but heres the funny thing. Mail order for me lately is a pain in the butt, so I have been looking around locally whenever I remember for about 2 months for some er-312. The other night I picked up this dusty filler wire I took home from a old job about 10yrs ago, that's been sitting on a shelf right in front of my face everyday and decided to google it. Turns out it cross referances to er-312, lol what a dummy.

That's awesome ! Do their last names end in "SKI " ? Anyway , ask them if they know what that stands for.
Skill , Knowledge , and Intelligence ! You will be their friend for life.
If you get a chance, just watch and listen . Guaranteed to make you laugh. Do they have receding hairlines too ? That's from smacking themselves in the forehead.
If you want some fun, write on both sides of a piece of paper, you know how to keep a Polock busy ? Give it to them. It should be Good for hours. Read turnover , read turnover , and it goes on and on.

No Bob, just to make you feel worse they have good hair for there age. Ill get a pic of the kabossi possi. One guy is definately a ski, and the other guy is a voechekz or something close to that. And of coarse we became instant buddies. You know the deal with being "the new guy" as well as me, and not speaking english to well makes you a target for a butt bullseye. I took there big asses under my little wings lol.
