    Been there, done that.

I think the most I've ever been burned is carbon arcing. One time I had to arc out some wear plates inside a steel box. The box was about 18-inch square, with four sides and a top. I tried to throw the sparks over my left shoulder, guess how well that worked?

Curious question, what can you use with burns like that? Does gold Bond or the likes help, or hinder?

I've had the best luck with Neosporin.

Honestly all I ever use is pure aloe. I have a big aloe plant at the shop, and for bad burns I wiggle off a stem, pinch off the bottom end with my thumbnail and squeeze some on. It dries really quick, and if you have a big mature plant where the juice comes out orange at the bottom, within a few minutes you will see your skin starting to wrinkle up where you applied it. And I just keep doing that a few times a day and for the most part it heals up fine. Aloe is amazing, but the whole key is a big mature plant.

I'll second the Neosporin. Something else that works great, almost better in fact, is just plain pure aloe vera juice right from the plant. We have a couple plants and you just cut a bit off and squeeze the juice out the end of the stem. Nature's miracle plant!

None of the above.....Just weld up the leak

LOL, I done the same last year when I was gas cutting plate....The slag dropped into the laces of my tenny shoes and burned a deep hole in the top of my foot...took forever to heal but I got to buy new tenny shoes

It looks deep. Maybe root pass with 6011, then 7018 cap.....

Aloe is great, but also keep it covered with something other than a dirty sock....non-stick gauze or a larger bandaid. Looks from the picture like a sizeable amount of tissue was vaporized. O-U-C-H...

Nope....toes are optional, but shoes are expensive.

Don't fuss at me either. If I wanted someone to nag at me I'd have a wife.

OUCH ! First class job. I told you to quit smokin ! Now your gonna have to go home in soak it incider her . You'll have to wear the sock in the opposite direction , AND, keep your boots tied. It's all part of the experience MIKE. Nothin a 30 pack of '' KEYSTONE '' won't fix. Oh, maybe that whiskey stuff in a 12 ounce shot class.

On a serious note, I bet you didn't break the arc , felt it burnin , and the smell of cooked skin but kept weldin ! AWESOME ! Usually you get the hot ones when you don't WANT TO STOP even if your overalls start on fire. Have the girlfriend kiss it and make it better. The ANKLE that is !
