    Re: So.Cal. Weld-O-Rama

Wes called me last night and I told it sounded like a great idea

Since we had not had one and people would be caught up from the holidays

Also its going to be at a industrial shop so the machines will be fully powered on ..not quite the same as running a machine on single phase

Not to take away from Johnathan who hosted the last 2
He was a great host ...Hope he and others can make it

It will give guys a chance to run machines and do processes they might not get a shot at any other time

Wes is going to bring some exotic metals from his areo space work .. inconels etc .. He has a lot of certs for all kinds of aero space and rocket/missle work

Hope Terry will also be there for the guys who have all the tig questions or dynasty questions ..He be da man

It wold be nice if ZT Fab could attend also i always admired his work

So I hope you so cal guys will come attend it will be a chance to learn things and run machines you might not otherwise be able to and have questions answered by the guys who do this for a living and it will only cost you time and fuel to get there

Dhem I know your a busy man but I would like to meet you also if you could shake loose some time

You guys could get away from the cold of the ice and snow and get warmed up for a couple days...Hint Hint
Steve and the rest of you guys can't name all of you but I would like to meet you guys if you can attend

I've been certified as spacey, but that doesn't mean I can weld Inconel. To me, an exotic metal is mild steel that isn't rusty.

My alternating Saturday lands smack dab on the 15th. I may have a reason to play hookie for a change of pace though.
If I get it cleared, I'll plan on it.

MDR, I know of it well, but have not made t out that direction. The picture of me on the boat is a big sportfishing ticket boat out of San Diego.

So as the thread progresses, I suppose we'll iron out more details. Alright, I have not been to one yet.

I would love to get some help with Spoolgun Aluminum MIG and dialing in machine. If anyone with those skills is up for it. I can put my SP250 w/ spoolgun in the trailer and bring it.

    Re: So.Cal. Weld-O-Rama

I have used mine exactly twice! I suppose we are talking about aluminum.

My experience has basically been as a trailer M.A.S.H. tech., (meatball surgery). No tig machine anywhere at work, both aluminum jobs were done with my own spoolgun. I can bring the air arc torch, spoolgun & the XMT304, but I have no generator for power. Or I can bring a small Oxy/Acetylene torch. Or some combination thereof with the small trailer.

Well since it the date looks good, I can give your spoolgun a try.

I am also gonna try to bring out the Dynasty280DX if I can get a helper to come with me for loading.

You better bring a waterproof cover to keep everyone's drooling from shorting the thing out :-P

    Re: So.Cal. Weld-O-Rama

Power should be no problem for any one it's a industrial shop so it should have everything from 120 to 480 ...you just need your plug in's for the receptacles

I will be bring the Trailblazer and the 12RC and the tig stuff and the cac
a bottle of argon and C 25/75 and a bottle (smaller) of tri mix 90/8/2 for doing spray on the 12RC off the TB..... the tig is DC only at this time

The TB has one 220 outlet and four 120 outlets and it is the airpak so has compressed air for whatever ..plasma cutter / cac / air tools

Terry I thought the 280 was basically the same as your 200 ( I have not really looked at one or the specs on it) I figured you would be putting it on the 200's cart or it's own cart by now... can't wait to see it

DJ's right you might consider the drool cover option

I don't know what the shop will have for tools and power tools so I will bring the standard field load out so we won't have to be stuck with just my big grinder this time that was both dumb and funny sort of
