Shovelon thanks for the 280 demo. Very nice arc start. I was thinking you maybe could improve it on straight helium by increasing the voltage in the starting parameters; apparently helium has a higher ionization energy than argon so it probably takes more volts to initiate the arc. BTW, Any chance of cutting a bit off the end of that 1" T to etch and look at the root penetration? Appreciate your feedback on the copper stuff.

Very funny Terry. All I can say is that it WAS a Long Neck. And no Mike, I wasn't about to go down on my Harley. But it does look like that doesn't it.

Thanks Wes - look forward to seeing it. That machine could probably have done it much hotter than 115A without violating the duty but I'm still curious to see what helium can do at that amperage.

It was $7 for the whole box so we've got a mountain of them here and you're welcome to them. I'd be happy to box them up for you all.
