    Just Got 2 Lincolns

Just bought both of these lincolns for $450! One runs fine the other needs some tlc. I am going to do some work to them. Just thought I would share the pics as I go. Both ranger 8. Onan engines. Plus it was a nice 2 hr ride to the beach!

That's the way I like to see a welder: USED.

Its funny though, that nearly all the rangers like that I see are beat up around the edges, but I never recall seeing any Millers that bung up, even though they had steel edges too at one time. Maybe they give the lincolns the rough jobs.

Yes this guy also had 3 miller bobcats in running condition for $500 each.

1 welder is missing the hr meter but the one that does run now has 1800 hrs. Now I need to get them off the truck before the snow!

Put a tarp on them, good weight for the snow. I put my SA200 on when it snows, motor needs work anyways and it a good 1200 lbs or more.

Welders did work good for weight. Never got stuck to 7-11 and back. Now to get the old skidsteer started in 20 degrees and welders into the garage. Next I have to build a woodstove, geez its cold for here!

I fueled my skidloader after not using it for a while with home heating oil, I ran for about 5 minutes and died. After a few checks it dawned on me that I had not treated the home heating oil and it is about 16 degrees out. You know how much fun it was to get running after that. Managed to get it started after getting a gallon and a half of Kerosene in the tank , got lucky and it fired but would barely run, forget throttling it. Finall worked it's way through the filters. Got My SA on board later in the day.

Man I don't miss dealing with that! I realize you were battling jelling but with freeze ups due to water contamination I typically found an ice slug in the first elbow in the pickup line. And then of course on to changing the filters that were usually water logged too. Could always count on the southern truckers not accustomed to driving in colder climates to freeze up when they headed north. And they NEVER had any cold weather boots or clothes and couldn't wait to jump in my nice warm service truck or wrecker.

BTW jreynoldswelding, nice find. Should have picked up the Millers too.

    Re: Just Got 2 Lincolns

Well got it running with 2 batteries, crank and crank..... Once it was running it was fine, I dumped some fuel treatment in it about 2 weekd ago when it started freezing outside, because I have been there with torpedo heaters on it trying to thaw it out. I will never do that again.

duaneb55: Should have picked up the Millers too....

I would have loved to, but my wife was already freaking out about thoose 2 and the 2 1/2 hr ride. They just dont understand. Wish I would have taken pictures of this guys storage yard tho, he had anything you can think of. stacks of dryers, welders galore, a old army tank, containers, EVERYTHING! And it was in the middle of nowhere.
