Yeah, they actually drove it away about an hour after it got pulled free... paperwork takes a long time I didn't even see em' lift the hood... but I could have missed it... I would guess anytime a semi-wrecker shows up they would do a 'full safety' on it before releasing it to get on the interstate??? but don't know how that works or what is involved when it comes to companies that lease trucks or insurance requirements???

That is crazy, but the tractor/front-end loader is secure.

Dont' remember if this has been posted or not. Found it on a Facebook page. Not sure what is worse, what this idiot did or the commenters on Facebook who said "Great idea, he can haul several thousands of pounds more with that torsion setup".Name: 156752802_2977679002555191_5155140133199276254_n.jpg

This is not so much of a trailer fail as a trailer success. If y'all don't mind, going to leave this here while I go out and check the torque on my hitch bolts and check over my safety chains.

The trailer coupler looks like it should be at least 2-5/16”

But the one on the truck doesn’t look that big from the pictures.

    Maybe it’s just the picture

Depth of field on the picture...hard to tell what sizes coupler and ball are...coupler is closer than ball.

Looks like the shiny chains are his safety chains and the other ones in the picture were added by the wrecker.

But what were his safety chains attached to on the truck?

I've watched movies. There is a lot of editing. What I see, is it real, or is it editing?
An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.

I think that after two quarter turn on the truck against trailer that stamped steel ball catch isn’t gonna care what size the ball is, its just going to let it go.

Or do a google search Idaho Safety Chains Gorge - safer than clicking a link

Don't blame you, with this crazy world it pays to be skeptical about pretty much everything.

Looks like one is attached to the safety chain loop on the receiver, and the other is dangling free. Until that semi got tethered on, he was hanging by literally 1 S-hook.
