Good luck with the new plasma, can't believe how small that 45 is vs what it will cut.
I've got a L........ brand 80a and have been looking at the 30xp or the 45 to use for quick cuts.
Please post how you like it after using it on a couple of jobs.

Re: New Hypertherm PM 45 arrived today

I wanted a PM 65 but could not kick another $1000.00 ..This was on sale for $1600.00 with free shipping

The 65 is much more advanced not to mention power output

I had a Miller 625 Extreme and for it's size it was impressive but i can tell already that the 45 went through that piece of 1/2" like butter
of course that was a quick test on a small piece just to confirm that the machine arrived in working order

It's after 5:00 got to roll another 10 hour day on the green weenie awaits
i'm just doing my biz on the weekends right now

@ killdozerd11 - Cool bro. My "45" works like a light saber. Cut a bunch of 1/4" & 1/2" plate HRS last weekend for an install. Looking to use her on the other end of the spectrum for some upcoming plasma art on 14ga SS. Grind on..

Re: New Hypertherm PM 45 arrived today

I picked up a PM45 a few weeks ago. What a difference over the torch I used to use (still have to certain tasks). I was debating between the 30 and 45. The 65 would have been nice to, but the cost was to much more to consider. While I think the 30 would have cut 95% of what I work on, I wanted the gouging capability. Buy once cry once I have been told.

Re: New Hypertherm PM 45 arrived today

I have had a 45 for a couple of months now. I did a job replacing a rusted out Deaerator tank that had to be cut in to pieces and removed by hand. The inside of the tank looked like it had been sitting on the bottom of the lake for years. I could not believe how easily it cut through the layers of rust scale. If I had used a oxy/fuel torch I would have been eating sparks from the blow back. The picture attached is 1/4" and some of the cleaner metal I cut. I should have bought one of these 10 years a go.

You are going to love it.

The 45 is a very nice plasma. I got the chance to use it during a tradeshow last year and it cuts like a knife through butter. Cost aside, it is a tool you will keep!

Re: New Hypertherm PM 45 arrived today

One thing i really liked was the 15 degree gouging torch for the 65 ...http://www.hypertherm.com/en-us/Prod...wermax65.jsp#3

and i could never max the output off the Trailblazer ..But i can on the 45

But it cuts 1/8 and 1/2 nice clean and fast and that is mainly what i need

Do you get any warping from cutting with this?
