    Hydraulic wire crimper.

Anyone have any experience with these? I do a reasonable amount of fabrication and modifications on boats, which usually involves a good bit of electrical work. Thus, I am constantly needing to crimp lugs on 8 and 6 AWG for trolling motors, as well as some 4 and 2 AWG for outboard starters and main battery cables.

Seems these things can be gotten for around 60 bucks plus shipping all day long. Anything in particular to look out for?

I used that exact tool when re-doing the electrical system on my sailboat. It worked well with the provided dies but it is slow.

Not for production based on speed but good for occasional use or where speed doesn't matter much.

BTW: Harbor Freight has the exact same tool for less. When it's on sale, it's around $39.00 when using a 20% coupon.
