    That is what mine takes.

and my OP gauge (same as the one pictured here) has one adjustable pin for the low side.

This is really the first time i have gone out and messed with the gauges any ... Pretty cool design actually.

What type of line did you run with your vacuum gauge Sparky, was it a kit? I have a test vacuum gauge but like the idea of a permanent one on the machine. Looks good by the way!

Thanks, it was a kit and it had the small white nylon type tubing. I used a brass T fitting on the intake where the idler gets it's vacuum above the carb. Wasn't that bad to hook up. I think they are VDO series 1 gauges

Thanks, all my metal goes goes to the sandblaster next week so I need to decide if I want to cut another hole or not. So far I have used all Murphy gauges in my setup.

Re: Installed Murphy gauges on my SA200 today

My VDO gauges had lighting kits included so I hooked them to the oil pressure switch so when the welder is running with OP the gauge lights are on. I tried it out today and noticed after I turned the engine off it was 10-15 seconds before the engine bled off oil pressure and the gauge lights went off. I have the voltmeter wired "hot" so I can tell battery voltage at all times, should I protect this circuit with an inline fuse ?
I had someone watch the vacuum gauge while I welded today, it holds 20-21" vacuum running at idle or 1550 with a steady needle. As I weld it drops to 14-16" with a steady needle. I think these reading indicate the engine is ok, correct?

Can you post a picture of the oil pressure tie in? How about a pic of the automatic kill switches, and their electrical tie ins?

Ok, here is the picture you requested of the tee connection for the oil pressure gauge. The Murphy gauges have one wire that comes off the back of each gauge. I tied them together and ran the to the "off" terminal of my ignition toggle switch. This allows the magneto to be grounded anytime the switch is off or either one of the gauges hit their limit settings. Very simple and effective

Nice! Looks pretty clean, straightforward. Thank you very much. The kill switch makes pretty good sense, really. Did you order the Murphy oil switch kit from Stumpfs? What all comes in it? Other suppliers don't sell it as a kit, thats what makes me curious.

No, I actually got both gauges from B&W parts in Arizona

What size Allen Wrench fits the pipe thread that you removed?

QUOTE=Sparkie1957;4754221]I had time today to install Murphy temperature and oil pressure gauges today on my 1966 Redface Everything went fairly easy, I was sweating the temp sender location pipe plug removal but with some heat from my brazing tip to the center of the plug in a couple of heat cycles it freed up with some gentle taps from the impact wrench both tighten and loosen and Attachment 860711Attachment 860721Attachment 860731Attachment 860741it broke free. I used a backer board when I used a hole saw to drill the 2 1/16" holes for the gauges, I am adding a VDO voltmeter and vacuum gauge when they come in. I also changed my intake/exhaust manifold gasket, it had a blow out on the #1 cyl exhaust runner. While I was in this deep I checked my valve clearances and found them all to tight, I set them to spec and put her back together and fired her up. What do you guys set your high limit on the temp gauge 205? 210?
