    Millermatic 200 - Fair price ?

    I've done my reading

I know I want a larger MIG welder and the Millermatic 200 seems to have a big following

Good welding characteristics, good support, highly repairable

Correct me if those assumptions are wrong

I've found one locally, but it looks like it lived in a body shop, a hundred colours of overspray on it.

give me a range of prices you would pay for one from perfect condition with new gun, lots of extension cord and a nice cart - to the low end a little beat up

I'll have to give those prices a Canadian adjustment since you all seem to find everything much cheaper than I can here.

    And
My primary purpose for this is sheet from .032 to quarter inch with shielding gas.

Does it have good control on the thin material?

Should I just get a 211, does it have the power to do quarter using gas ?

Mm 200 sell for about $800 here regularly. The 211 should have no problem on 1/4", just a lower duty cycle than a 200.

Personally, to me that sounds like a production machine. It might have been used a lot and shows that it was not covered when not being used. If you are serious remove cover and see what's inside. Depending on price, for more money you would have a 3 year warranty and a new machine. Try it and see how you like it.
In my area it would be around $500 to $1,000 asking price from a hobbyist .
