Suggestions on a good respirator to buy.

Hi,

I'm a new guy on the block learning to weld. What is a good respirator to buy? I am not fool with the little money I do have, but do not spare money when it comes to safety and health. Thanks. Leaky88

I've got the 3M with pink filters for under hood use and it filters well but is a little large. The guy I work with has the Miller respirator and it is alot smaller so the hood doesn't bump against it.
We both have Miller PAPR systems for the really nasty stuff (stainless & galvanized) and they are nice because you don't have to take your hood off for grinding but that is overkill for hobby and weekend activities.
