    Cool video, not much on safety, no gloves and lack of eye protection for whoever wasnt actively welding..I wonder how those rims held up down the road??

    Looks like that old guy has burnt a rod or too. I wonder what type and brand rod he is using? Strikes real easy, can't be 7018 and not much spatter.

    Before my time,,, my parents lived in AZ. My dad would do this type of work for the sand buggies/rails. He told me that one time they made some wheels 30" wider. If I remember the story right, they would buy used tires from NASCAR or Indy type cars and somebody would glue paddles on the tires.

    Tons of old backyard hacked wide wheels out in the desert, it was big in the 70's. You'll see some funky dually conversions using spacers, even on the front axles.

    Looks and sounds like 6011 on AC......

    I think those boys have done that about 10 thousand times before.....

    That table is about wore through from turning the wheels and welding them...

    cool vid really enjoyed it, reminds me of when I was a kid and my first car was a 47 chevy coupe we made reverse rims kinda like that no lathe work

    watched a guy do this with a brake drum lathe. 1962 or 63 in Flint Michigan.
