Nice!!! I like the drain holes for the I pad... that way if the battery leaks it can have a place to drain

Well I forgot my phone this morning when I went to town... but it was right here where I left it when I got back

Re: Scrap metal art or projects

I’m in need of some creative ideas please.

The tenant I had used to install swimming pools and l saved a bunch of 15 gauge galvanized forms from the scrap bin.

The straight ones were relatively easy to cut with the plasma and reshape for cladding work bench tops and other small projects.

I only have this single curved 10 foot section left.

It’s 42” tall and has an approximate radius of 10 feet. 15 gauge galvanized. Any creative ideas other than build a mini skateboard park?

Our local equivalent of Craigslist. It was a dentist double head unit that I split in half and fabbed new mounts for.

I paid $100. I’m pretty sure the newer LED units would be better.

Was walking by my bandsaw mill shed and saw the tin of jic fittings I got the other day sitting there... so I grabbed it and filled a couple trays with some of them(about 2/3rds) didn't have time to organize/categorize, and count them... but I did get most of them out of the tin
As of right now I actually have a use for at least 4 if the female pipe to jic fittings

Looking at it, I immediately thought it'd make a great back for an outside bench/deck/seating area. You could put a nice fire pit in front of it so folks could sit around comfortably, and the height would be great for blocking unwanted views or that cold north breeze.

Hand cuffs are definitely involved beyond that it could be anything lol.

So, any thoughts on what to do with a pristine cast iron v-belt sheave that weighs 220lbs?

It is being scrapped at my work and I can have it - just can't try to sell (in its unaltered firm). I made a big, ponderous pendulum with a 70lb one last year but this - wow - not sure off the top of my head.

At that size and weight, it is a tough call on what to do with it. Unless you were going to use it as a base for a massive sculpture, I am drawing a blank for now.

You - are new to metal - and you are newer to this Forum . . .

The sheave is a gift: handle it gently - don't flip-over, roll on the
    floor/ground - drill, weld, or paint . . .

I have 1000's of collected objects - it is not uncommon - to take
years, to find its' proper home . . .

My most recent 'found object' work - took 8 years of finding . . .
and I will be remembered 'afterward' for it . . .

Consider your sheave [creative] inventory - dwell - and get back
with us when your project is Magazine caliber . . .

    It may take years . . .

Pat, that looks awesome there ! I wonder if the kids started climbing on it yet. I know if me and my buddies saw that when I was a kid we'd be climbing on it.

I would definitely bring that home. That is not a inexpensive item. Most farm feed grinders use them.
A farmer buddy had to buy one, was over $500 for that.
I would try selling it, can't hurt.

I welded the bell to the arch then put some beads on the anchor bolts to lessen the chance of theft and damage.

Well plans for a fun morning on the farm ground to a halt ....

My latest dumpster save turned out to be a bust. The inflation fan motor on this giant inflatable coffee cup only hummed.

This is what it was SUPPOSED to look like..
