Nice work as usual Bob. Glad to see you are still making items.
Try to stay warm up there or when it gets too cold, head to Florida and catch some fish.

Thanks Pat, Florida is out for awhile . I did make a trip in July but this covid stuff is still bad. I have to be careful because of my wife's health issues.

It's sad not doing any shows this year. I did donate 10 pieces for ''Kenosha Strong'' as a silent auction to help out along with a local horse farm sponsoring a charity event.
It was great ! My stuff generated $800.00 .

I did sell a few horseshoe Christmas tress and a bunch of snowmen. I have to do some more today for a couple of orders. Stay Safe Guys !

    How big is your shop?
I want to build a pole barn, when I see organization like you have it makes me want a shop even more.

I’m very fortunate to have 3 adjacent cold storage rooms and warehouse space from my farming days of which I use about 5000 square feet for shop area.

I hope you are able to build your pole barn

Me to. I'm not sure I can part with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If the job at he makers space pans out that will give me an idea. I taught 32 years and had 4 part time jobs for much of it. I really don't want to punch a clock anymore. Sorry little down today after running numbers.

5,000 sq ft isn't in the cards for a lot of us. Work with what you can do, get things up and running, and allow for expansion further down the road.

BD1, Looking at all the neat things you have made from cutlery, how did you manage all the crappy alloys? Are you picky with the manufacturer? I have tried to weld spoons and some disintegrate and some weld just fine. Don't know unless you try.

Thanks, I use. 023 wire, 75/25 ,with a Miller 140 autoset. Older Transformer model.
I buy most of my silverware at Goodwill, $0.10 each.
I avoid the thin stuff, and always test heat settings on same thickness first.
    Are you using MIG ??

I do tig some, it depends on the piece.
I have it pretty down pat now.
Mig is great for my basic dragonflies and birds.

I've been using tig, nice and quiet. I think I need a better thrift store, with thicker cutlery!

You should see how much silverware is at my buddies scrap yard Every time I'm over there I would guess there is over a hundred pounds laying around that people have dumped off in the week!!!

    Definitely check Goodwill.
I have a good supply now. There are a variety of shapes for spoons. The round ones are great bases.
Same with forks. I think they are called cocktail forks, they have three points .
These are my favorite for hands and feet but hard to find.
I avoid plain handles unless it's on a unique spoon shape or slotted spoon.
