Magnesium Filler Rod 1/16x36

I have a 3 pound pack of magnesium filler rod that was part of a filler rod inventory that I purchased at a local shop closure. The box has been opened on the end that probably had the stock number and alloy designation. There is a half length amongst it. Maybe that was all that was used.

Pretty sure I'll never have need for this much so I was considering what to do.

Option one: is sell the (less than 3#) pack for $150. Pretty fair price (in my mind) Buyer should be happy, I'd be happy, move on, have a nice day.

Option two: put five half pound lots for sale at $70 (or?) per lot The remaining 1/2 pound I could mail out 2or 3 lengths at a time free to WW members who just need a bit or want to experiment.

Option three: do nothing.

Feel free to comment or poke holes in this plan. I havent really put a lot of thought into this yet.




Full disclosure. The third pic shows 3" of oxidation on the end of rods of open end of box. It came off easily with a wipe of steel wool.

Was hoping to limit my options to just three, but I'll see how it goes tonight. I'm at the end of a dead end street and not too many weldor/kids around.
