    AHP Distributor: Disclosure

HI guys, just to answer some questions I received and clear some stuff up.
As you all know, I started on the AHP review back in 2014, which led to quite an extensive thread on the brand here. I also said multiple times that I was not a dealer or in any way financially compensated by AHP, but I would disclose if that changed. In fact with all my travel time, fuel, materials, consumables etc. I have spent a fair amount over the time I was doing the reviews. So what changed is that I felt the AHP200x was just a really good product for the money and the company was actively making efforts to improved the products. They send a rep to China almost every build to monitor QA and do product development. So, this is my full disclosure that my business, Tiger Sales is now an Authorized distributor for AHP and Everlast products.

You may also remember that one key issue I addressed was their customer service and support after the sale. I figured out that the only way to really get that improved was to become a distributor and start my own welding sales business. I have agreements with AHP that basically give me final say on issues my customers have. IE you let me know 28 days after you get your machine that there is an issue. So now if you talk with tech support and they work with you for a couple weeks to resolve the problem with replacement part (IE foot pedal for example) and it doesn't solve the issue. You would still get free repair/replacement shipping if that was needed because it initially occurred within the 30 day window from when you got it. I DO NOT Drop Ship, I stock everything I sell. Primarily AHP, but there are some Everlast machines that are pretty good that I may stock 1 or 2 of each and apply my same testing standard as listed below.
I test weld and check all functionality of every machine before shipping, so I will never ship a DOA machine. I also test the pedal response, amperage output accuracy, Flowmeter accuracy, dual voltage operation and visually inspect all accessories. This is a 20+minute process for each machine and I leave them running for an hour whenever I can.
I hope to expand into other brands and products next year. I will definitely be at Fabtech in Las Vegas next year....
I will also be getting a website up early next year.
I have been waiting to hear from Penton media about getting a paid section here on WW but have yet to hear back from the advertising department. I have also discussed this with the moderators.
I won't sell anything I don't feel is a good value for money or a product that I don't feel my customers would be totally happy with. For example, I tested the AHP plasma that was just released and I was not impressed with it. I don't think my customers would be completely happy with it so I told AHP I refuse to sell it in its current form. Thus I am returning the pallet of them I have to AHP. I also often offer free in person delivery in a large portion of CA and NV as I travel between LA, SF and Reno on a regular basis. Also no tax outside of NV. I may not be able to match Amazon pricing but after you add the tax savings, you will be pretty close or better. For clarification. the Lower prices on Amazon form AHP direct are posted when they are out of stock and waiting a new shipment.

So you will always get complete honesty and full disclosure from me!

So you are all welcome to contact me with any questions or comments.

Been looking at the AHPs along with everlast- however the squarewave 200 is looking pretty good right now, but then again so does the price on the AHPs!

I won't sell anything I don't feel is a good value for money or a product that I don't feel my customers would be totally happy with. For example, I tested the AHP plasma that was just released and I was not impressed with it. I don't think my customers would be completely happy with it so I told AHP I refuse to sell it in its current form.

    What is wrong with them?

Seems like Jody liked the one he used.. Not that I would buy too much of anything based on a web review.. (Even mine)

They work fine. Nothing special as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a plasma expert, only have my 875 ESAB But both are similar tech wise and the AHP only seems to cut at 60 to about what my esab cuts 45-50 amps range. But the thing that turned me off is that even at its lowest 20 amp setting, it tripped my dedicated 20 amp 110vac breaker in about 30 sec. So I don't see the dual voltage being much use. Nearly everyone that would buy it for that feature expects to be able to at least run it on minimum setting on a 15/20 amp outlet. So it works as designed but I don't feel I can stand behind it 100%. So I'm choosing not to sell them. I'd recommend contacting Kevin Caron if anyone was wanting one and there is always Amazon.com
I haven't tried any of the Everlast plasma machines yet so can't compare to those yet either.

    Re: AHP Distributor: Disclosure

The 60 amp Esab's were always were pretty powerful machines.. To this day, old torch design not withstanding. Same can be said about the 35 amp Esab 500i. Quite amazing cutting right through .500 aluminum like it was butter. 35 amps, and all.. I have owned 12/30/40/70/2-90 amp Esabs. and used a few others along the way..like the 60 amp late model powercut 900.. I was impressed..

    Re: AHP Distributor: Disclosure

    Very nice!

Are those now the standard hose/cables for the AHP?

And are they more flexible and a little lighter so that most people may be less inclined to want to upgrade to CK SuperFlex?

I mean, what I'm think has been reported already is that they might be between the flexibility and weight of the 17 and the 26 gas-cooled Superflex hose/cable. And that may be enough to do it, especially if it does carry a little more power duty cycle than a typical 9/17 hose cable. Hopefully it's not just a fabric color change. I mean, I believe there is a 17HD (heavy-duty) torch that, mated up to a slightly heavier duty hose/cable could even alleviate a tendency for us air-cooled torch guys to want a 26 Torch, since it usually involves a different (bigger) hose/cable and SafeLoc connector.

Either way, the AHP 200X undoubtedly represent a best-value for a good quality, full-featured, 200 amp AC/DC TIG unit at under $800, delivered.

Of course, the last and only slight improvement that seems to remains, in my opinion, to make a flawless package, may be that included "adequate" foot pedal. Otherwise, Bravo, AHP!

And you too, SouthPaw, for becoming a trusted distributor of a product that is undoubtedly easy to feel good about offering to consumers. May you prosper well in this endeavor!
