Cart for my Thermal Arc 186.

Had plans on making my own, but my friend's dad pulled this out of a dumpster! Cut a hole for the tank, added some support for the top - welding cart!
Still going to add some hooks and filler storage, and paint it up. It's also got space on the bottom for a tig cooler eventually!

Repurposed "Sun Analyzer" from the 60s. made a compartment door for the Argon. this will be for the "tig".

I cut out a panel and added a piano hinge to a cover plate. That plate swings open to remove the bottle, then can close, retained by 3 - 3/8 bolts threaded into captured nuts on the inside of the cart. easy in and out. I didn't want to have a tank hanging off. The econotig will go on top. All the filler, rods and accessories will go in the cabinet. Once its loaded up, I'll take another pict.

New here, and new to welding too. Picked up a Hobart 187 a few months ago and I love it. running a C25 mix of course. Because of space, and also the fact that I am transferring to the University of Oklahoma in a few months and moving out there, (gotta fit it in the bed of my truck) I built a table and cart combined. Not quite finished yet, I need to build fenders to protect the tires and also a shield for the bottle to protect it from arcing/sparks. There are also different small things I want to do once I have the time. But its good enough for now. I have since added expanded metal to both shelves, designed it this way to allow any materials to pass through. And I am going to redo where the bottle rests, dont care for it as I built it and am planning on getting a TIG machine soon, so need space for a second bottle. Top is 3/8" plate. Let me know what y'alll think!









I have also replaced the chipped abrasive blade on my chop saw.

What rod storage tubes are those? Your own invention?

They are just 2 1/2 PVC pipe with caps. The plastic is electrostatically charged and every time I grinded something they would turn black, which pissed me off as I hate spending time trying to make something look nice then trash it with something stupid. So I spent $20 on some rustoleum paint (rubbed bronze, not too bad, coated well too, but a lot of paint dust even for spray paint) and gave it a once over.

The tube is 34" and the caps are a coupler, small nipple glued in then a cap on top and one on the bottom. That way I can get a wire without fishing with my gloves on.

I gave some thought to buying the made tubes but for $20 a pop X 11 tubes, no thanks. This setup for 11 tubes cost me less than $50.

As an aside, since most are full, it adds a bit of weight to the cart.

Needed a way to move my newly acquired titan 8 around the yard, and in and out of the back of the truck. At least until I come up with a dedicated trailer to mount it on.

2 golf cart tires, parts of an old atv axle, some 2x2 angle and square tube. And TaDa.

Pulls pretty good. Little tongue heavy, should have put the axle more centered.



And since I was at my uncles garage (where I had the welder stored) I figured I would get a pic of how he rolls. I gave him this cart like 10 years ago.Good as anything I guess.

In the shop I use normal, cheap carts that I got at the welding store, but I needed something to drag my 211 and dynasty 200 outdoors and through the gravel yard so I came up with this. Attachment 703431Attachment 703441Attachment 703451

It works perfect for what I need to do and as a bonus, the sides fold down to store grinders, gloves and any other gear in the bottom.

Well not really a welding cart, but a plasma cutter cart. Figured I could get away with posting it here. Made from 1.5" .120 wall tubing and some 18ga expanded metal I had laying around. Not done off any plans, just kinda off the top of my head. Killed my past flap disk so it's not getting painted till I go to home cheapo to get a few more.
