Marking-off and Layout

Hi all

I like to come up to speed, being a newbie, to design, mark-out, and layout my ideas before fabrication.

What are the good sources of information; especially on the textbook side, then training video's, and finally websites.

I like to see and read, then do; that's how I learn. Thanks all.

I know some guys on here use sketch up. You can download it for free, just do a search for it. This is what i use http://aras360.com/products/software/reality.html its not it intended use, and thats not what its for, but I have it can draw and design anything in it.

some squares, scribe, prick/center punch, white spary paint, rule. etc. that would be a welders begginer start

The onshape stuff is pretty impressive. Their free version is pretty decent.

If you end up doing stuff with tubular materials, keep this website handy. Free site that makes full scale paper templates for most joints you're likely to see.
