    is this backwards?

    Sub panel

Looks like they isolated the Ground bus bar and the neutral is still bonded to the case>
Shouldn't this be the other way around?

Yes it should be the other way around. In fact the grounding bushing on that pipe that the green wire goes to is grounding the ground bus anyway. Nut the neutrals should not be bonded.

My first thought was "homeowner" job! This does not look like it was done by a licensed electrician, I can see mult code violations. What is the story behind it? Broccoli1 you are an Electrician by trade correct?

I do this for a living and I can't even tell what's going on, other than it looks all wrong.

Is this sub in the same structure as the main panel or a detached building?

    Re: is this backwards?

    I am not an electrician

I deal with portable power off generators for lighting on location. Relative easy: red cam-lock to red, black to black, blue to blue, white to white and green to ground Just keep an eye on balancing loads.

yes, sub-panel fed from main panel behind that wall. This was installed by an electrician during a Solar installation.

My friend opened it up to add the 6-50R and It was so wrong inside I needed a 2nd look from you guys because I couldn't believe it.

    Re: is this backwards?

It would be easy enough to fix just have to pull in new neutral wire to get to neutral bus, looks like Ground will reach back over to the ground bar. Can not see what the wire gauge is to panel but it doesn't look like it's much bigger than an eight or six so looks like the panel could be already overloaded!
