Hi everyone, My name is Craig. I have been lurking here for a few years on and off. I have never posted on here before but today I am because I have a question I did not see the answer to in the forum. I recently bought a welder at an auction thinking I was getting a decent deal on a supposedly working machine. Well turns out that when I got it hooked up it is not working..... Well that's not entirely true. it does weld on AC but not on DC- or DC+.Because it does work on AC I am thinking maybe there is a diode or rectifier or something that could be burned up? Does anyone have any experience with this? Are the parts replaceable and available? What is the cost? Or did I just pay twice as much as I should have for an AC only machine....

Could just be the contacts on the polarity switch are haired over and corroded.
