Ok I am new to welding and welders in general but I have been getting pretty serious and have decided in investing into an old machine that will be reliable and allow me to stick weld whatever I can throw at it. So I ended up with a pretty good deal on this 1982 SA-200 BlackFace.
So before coming out to pick up the 200 today the owner had pulled the carb and tried to clean it out because the machine was bogging down every time he struck an arc and started to weld. He said it would act like it would want to die and believed it was just a matter of adjusting the idle/governor or just a bad carburetor. Now when we crank it up it will run briefly then just die.
If anyone can point me in the direction of some good videos to watch or previous posts/links I could view I would really appreciate it. I would like to try to fix it myself so that I may learn more about the machine and I am sure with a little hard work I can get her cleaned up and looking good!
