I would have added this pic to the last post up there with pics but it has been longer than the allotted 90 minutes to edit a post.

I received mine today, the box looked like the UPS guys had used it to stand on but the machine was fine inside the packaging. I got it all out of the box before i realized they sent me a 3 phase unit instead of the single phase unit.
This one is going back and a replacement is on the way.
Yes I have the rest of my life to learn and hopefully I learn something new every day. I find it impossible to cut a hole in the middle of a plate using a band saw. You know that is what I meant too. I was not talking about using a Scroll saw with a hole drilled in the plate either. LOL Man sometimes... OK pic or it never happened.

Jim,
on this site bought one and got a 20 ft instead of a 50 ft model .He just uses it around the shop, and 20 is fine for him.. I don't think Amazon knows what they are doing with these..
Mine is still lost in space..

The model numbers are so close and the ticket pullers probably look at the box if/when they pull the wrong box and think it looks right so it has to be it. Or you have a bunch of idiots that got hired by Amazon to fill the void. I hear they pay $15.00 per hour to start out now. They are hiring near me all the time 30 miles away in Tracy and they have 3 big Jets at the Stockton Metro Airport about 3 miles down the road from my house coming and going all the time. Amazon is a growing beast. Hard to get good help when you have so many worker bee's running all over the place in a company.

Yeah LOL and in the time it took you to explain how to do it the long way around a plasma cutter with a circle cutting guide could have cut the hole and started working on other things that continued to pay the bills... .02¢
Although I like the cut the blade and braze it back together trick. It's just not practical when a plasma cutter is available...

I’m not really sure how this escalated, but I thought the idea was to increase productivity? Just because it can be done does not make it the best way to be done.
Are you advocating folding 1/2” plate (or any other size plate for that matter) in half, man handling it, cutting it on a 20”+ vertical or a hand held then unfolding it? No regard for weakening the plate along the crease or the equipment needed to do so?
You are also assuming all holes are within the capacity of a bandsaw?
I guess I’m missing something here, but if I didn’t have a suitable plasma or oxy fuel rig available what you described would be the last thing I would do.
Being new to this forum I know this is a crappy response, but what you are advocating is just a bad idea.

Ya, I have never really understood forum personalities. I’m very literal, that is why I generally just read rather than comment, not sure why I decided to change that lately!

Thats worth it for the torch alone

Yes actually works out cheaper if you were to buy the 3 ph machine it just for the torch. One could buy the torch and sell the new machine less the torch and practically get a free torch out of the deal.
I'm wondering if a Leather or other type of cable cover should be used to protect the hose. I normally keep my hoses out of the line of fire but you never know when a wild hot piece will ricochet over to where the hose it.
UPS finally says out for delivery. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas Day to finally be here.

The standard Hypertherm 45XP does not come with one either.
The automation interface catalog number 9-8308 gives you a receptical on the rear panel of the machine for start stop input.
Here is a link for hand holding.. It will work for some. Wish I could get a link for the correct 18 pin plug. I am only using 3 wires on it, so not a huge issue. Just found some pins to plug into the J609 connection

Actually it was after they sold 5 units if you look on the right column it says they have 14 machines left. when the price was down to almost $500 they had only sold one unit.
The 50' 3ph unit is down to $740 and says it only has 14 units left as well. I think Brand X nailed it when he said he don't think Amazon knows what they are doing with these.

There were 19 of the 3Ø machines in stock when the price dropped to $533- and 17 in stock at $506-.
Amazoomie's algorithm adjusts price based on inventory and speed of sale.
On slower moving items the price will often drop as you look at the same item multiple times.
She just arrived and the sticker on the box looks like they got it right the first time. Oh and only a couple of small holes in the box. Looks like it will be ok.
