    Miller legend nt no voltage

I have an old legend nt. All the wires was pulled away from cr1-cr3. I managed to get them in correct location, but there is no voltage to receptacle or welding lead What makes the generator produce voltage?

DC voltage to the rotor thru the brushes is what makes the generator produce AC output voltage.

Gonna need a unit SN to make sure we get the correct circuit diagram to refer to in order to aid you in troubleshooting.

Considering you got CR1 and CR3 wired back up I take it you're comfortable reading the Miller circuit diagrams. If so, PM me an email address and I'll send you some troubleshooting information for your unit. I'd attach it to a post but it's too large for the forum's attachment feature.

Thank you. I am semi comfortable. A lot of wires got unplugged. The small transformer’s wires was pulled out I did solider them back to where I thought the came from. I don’t. What voltage it’s supposed to produce?

Re: Miller legend nt no voltage

I just resurrected a Trailblazer 250G this afternoon that sat for 10 years.. it was basically new when put into storage (113hours on meter) hadda rebuild carb etc.. ran great but no power to outlets or weld leads as well... I noticed the slip rings looked cloudy.. pulled brush rack and ... this part ya gotta be really careful bout, used some 400 grit emory cloth cut 1 /4" wide mountede it to the end of a 1/4" dowel and fired up the engine genlty polished all 3 rings and replaced brushes.. all voltages are now dead on manual spec... we usaed to have this issue alot with machines up in oregon and alaska that spent their lives outside in sheds or non climate controled shops, when I noticed that cloudy haze on the slip ring surfaces it reminded me how I used to clean them up north... was a surprise to see it with a machine left sitting in an indoor storage in Tucson Arizona... ya might check the brushes and slip rings..

Thanks for info. I tried that, but no luck. Polished them up and bushes look to sticking out far enough with plenty of spring.

Looking at the tech manual suppose to have 80 volts to the fuse / rectifier from exciter winding.
I don’t understand why it’s not there. It ohms out within spec.
