    Ironman 230 Wire Feed Question

I'm looking at getting a bigger machine and thinking real hard about an Ironman 230. $1400 delivered for a 250 max amp machine built in USA seems awful hard to beat.

I do have a question about wire feed speed. On the HH 135 I have, the wire feed speed is dependent on the voltage. Per the manual if you leave the wire speed setting alone and raise the voltage the actual wire feed speed will increase. I have not been able to find the same info in an Ironman 230 manual.

I believe on the Ironman, wire speed and voltage are controlled separately. The machine has two controls on the front- voltage and wire speed

Back to old school "bacon fry" for wire speed. The irononman is close to the MM200 or the HTP2400. You learn to tweak it a little as you go. No biggie. Great machine

Great. That’s what I want. I really want to know that “xx” on wire speed control gives “xxx” ipm in all voltage positions.

Yep, own one and they are independent of each other.

This is incorrect info Ed. The 140 and 190 still have the wire speed tracking. The 210 MVP and Ironman 230 don't.

Re: Ironman 230 Wire Feed Question

I have a ironman and like it very well, been using it for years. The voltage is tap settings and wire feed is infinite. My friend works for miller electric, he tells me the ironman is the old miller 250 technology. I like not having the digital readout like on the miller 252, those digital readouts are very expensive to have repaired. If you can swing the cost I highly recommend the ironman.
