Besides...……...I get all the off roadin' any human being would want.

A nice crust of dried manure, and hay. Underneath...………...decaying manure and hay. Break thru that crust, and it's something the human nose will remember for a lifetime. Right out curl yer nose hairs

Today's tractors suck. All plastic, curvy lines like a suppository. The old iron has class.

looks like a fun project. Im thinking of building a 4 door f150 or silverado here soon. I used to be big into prerunners as a teen, and somehow ended up in aviation. been doing alot of off road race exhaust lately. making me miss it.

Yeah, I won't use any names but there is one famous for crappy welds that the guys are really proud of. They get "irate 4x4" when you tell them so.

OP, your welds look awesome by comparison.

OK for all the Naysayers I have built from scratch and rebuilt several frames in nothing but a barn. Had them all checked out by a frame shop all were within specs. The trick is to mesure from known points. Tools used Portapower Jackstands Comealong Beams in the barn Tree outside the barn an Ibeam welders and torches OH and a good Tape mesure. So yes you can do it just take your time.

That is why I learned to fab!!!! As a matter of fact, I am in the midst of building (upgrading) a 6' over kit for my ride. I will start a thread on it. When I first did my intro, someone told he admin that we need an off road section. We do.
I hear yah, keep what you can and fab the rest.
You should throw up some of the pics of your build in here.
Lookin forward to both updates on the warfighter and your build.
Not sure they'd add another section though, this is the "projects section"
Regardless, I'm looking forward to watching your progress as I am big fan of the pre-runner world but never see it, especially in Coastal NC haha

The spindle broke in half. Got it cleaned it up and prepped. Made sure to bevel back enough for full penetration on both sides. Once I welded it all in place, 3/16th plate with numerous plug welds were used. Will post more pics of it soon...
