I was looking for bargains on market place and saw an add for 1109 rods and had a good laugh I find it hilarious that people find old half soaked junk rods in paps garage and try to sell them and have no clue I think he wanted 50 for like 20 lbs anyway had a good laugh I did message him and just said Google those there very rare he replied I can't find them what are they I said overhead 6011 he's probably still confused

Since you told him they're rare, he may up the price on them, so keep a check to see if he does. I wouldn't doubt that he does, thinking he may be able to make more$$$ off of them. Come to think about it, I can't find 1109 rods of any size around here, so they MUST be some kind of rare.

Some times you win though I bought 10 lbs of esab nickel arc 55 for cast for 10 dollars awhile back that stuffs like 30 a lb anymore

Hey I resemble that remark!

I went to a farm retirement sale to buy a 14 ft cherry-harvest ladder. I asked about a near-full 20 lb box of 6011 rods that obviously had been in the barn for years. $5!

They worked fine to repair or strengthen farm stuff. photo 1 photo2 , a plate added.

Now 10 years later I use them to practice on scrap for dialing in the welder settings. Still have plenty. Well worth the $5.
