It's here! My pre-order missed the 1st truck delivery to the store, but it made it onto the 2nd. Sounds like they're trying to fill all the pre-orders first before they stock in-store. Just unboxed it and will check it out over the next few weeks...

I asked the store manager about this very thing when I picked mine up and he said they would just drop a pre-order into the system to get a replacement in to swap with me if anything were to go wrong with the unit. Right now it's looking about 1-2 weeks depending on when the truck drops at your location. Might want to ask your store what's up...

Oh and warranty "resets" for the new replacement unit if it's within the 90-day.

I just ended up returning it, and ordering a new one. Turns out there was a new coupon code for 899 at the same time. My unit shipped after 4 days.

As of 3 June the Vulcan $200 off coupon still works! $799 total and add $120 for 3 year warranty. I don't have mine right now, but someone posted it in a YT video comment... let me see if I can find it.

Here is the 799.00 Coupon CODE. I did not have the coupon, hence I did not go to the store. I used the code in that video posted and it works. I ordered mine online and put the code from the video in the coupon text box when ordering. The CODE is :20111338. I ordered mine online yesterday June 9, 2020.

Yeah, it looks like the comment was removed from the video recently. I did my coupon in-person (found receipt; same numbers) but it does appear to work online too.
I don't have it anymore or I'd be able to tell you the expiration, but it may have been part of the whole honoring "old" coupons because the unveiling/release of the 205 was delayed so long. (I believe they are still honoring the SEMA coupons too...?)

Good to know you can walk into the store with just the code numbers and not the coupon. I am waiting for mine to be shipped. Still pending on the order. Not in a rush as I moved my shop into my barn and it is in shambles.

Did you order yours at a store or online. I placed my order online on Tuesday and my order online still send "Pending".

I ordered protig 205 last week also using the coupon online 06/10 and the order was also PENDING until today 06/15 received a delayed 07/05 item out of stock notice with no known ship date. Says if it isn't shipped by 07/05 it would be cancelled unless I contact them.

That sucks. The new one I got has a way better hf start board. The other one was iffy sometimes and wouldn't always start. This new one has a crisp pop. also welds really smooth.

this will be my first stick/tig setup that I've been putting off learning the past 2 years.

Any recommendations on stuff I might want to immediately replace/upgrade on this machine right away while learning on it? I'm sure down the line I might get a flex torch or different cup kit.

I'll need a longer hose for my gas for sure now since my tank will be off in a corner.

I'm looking forward to see how I fair with stick welding since I'm so use to using wire shielded flux the past few years. I'm not quite sure which rods I might want to grab for overall mild steel (fence work, mainly scrap rusted outside metal). 6011?

I would definitely get a flow meter like a htp flow meter, and a stubby gas lens kit. Don't forget tungsten, the stuff mine came with was junk. Not much else I can think of.

That's the one...or a picture of one anyway. If it hadn't been for that video comment I wouldn't have thought to try it for a welder (even though it is Vulcan branded).
I purchased in store also, but it works online too. If your particular store is giving you a hassle, you should be able to just cancel the store one and order online; let the store lose the business by dealing direct instead I guess.

Unless they aren't honoring the coupon anymore...?

Now I just need to finish a paint job on a car to regain room in the garage in order to play some more with TIG...

I went ahead a finished closing holes on this car with OA/MIG and I hope to have the TIG up and running before the next project car moves in.
