Checked on the intake tube and looked nice and clean. Put waaay to much oil on. There was a puddle under the filter, put about 20k on the fuel filter and you’re supposed to do them every 15k. I could tell it was loosing performance when that smoke hit about a month ago and never was the same since. I’m thinking the fuel filter was clogged at the same time. Put a new wix on today and really woke it Again. Fuel mileage was even going down the last month because I was having to run it little harder since it wasn’t running that good. It was struggling to hit 6th seemed like. Runs like a rapped ape again. It was getting 460 at 3/4 tank and lately only 400 or soName: 2A5FF533-460E-4D88-BAAB-994C2511EC0E.jpg

Yeah looks like you been filling up at ARCO remember the clean fuel goes down the center tube... so don't let ANY dirt fall into there if you clean the grit and grime out of the reservoir!!!! I use a shopvac when cleaning that kind of thing.

I'd maybe change the filter again in a 5-8k seeing how dirty that one was.

I’d like to try a motorcraft. I think the cap gets reused on those ones

You should always use the original caps, not the aftermarket ones that are longer. I always use motorcraft filters in my 6.0

The ones with the cap attached are after market and are prone to leaking. Get the OEM filter which is made by Racor and make sure to install the gasket properly and lube it up good, the beveled part faces up even though it looks like it should point down.
