I got one when I went to the Hobart welding site. I just ignored it and so far haven't seen it again.

Is anyone else getting this message?

Hmm. I see it every time I log on to weldingweb.
More than likely a malware on YOUR computer, I have heard of these on other sites but not specifically that get triggered on weldingweb but you never know with the speed these lowlifes adapt to changing policies...
it never hurts to change your password.
Do not change your password through that popup!
If you want to change your password log in to welding web as you normally would and change it in the settings tab.
this is the correct link to change your password: https://weldingweb.com/profile.php?do=editpassword
can you post a screenshot of the pop up you are seeing?
When ever something out of the ordinary comes up/pops up first thing I do is start a few searches with some of the details the message/etc has on it... along with the keywords scam/virus/malware/etc... this will give you a little insight into what is going on or if it's a common scam/issue... but don't use this search engine...
I'd be suspicious if it showed up on every site but it's only on welding web and there aren't any clickable links in it so it seems real. I'll try to post a screen shot next time I log on.
thanks, please do.
Sorry for the delay. Here's the popup. It doesn't show up on a single other site I go to.
That's your browser itself giving you the warning. Likely because you have used the same password here on WeldingWeb and somewhere else on the internet, or Chrome considers your password to be common and insecure. I would change your password using the link I provided above.
