    that video is illuminating!

Craig certainly comes across as knowledgeable there, and remembering that someone with his level of MIG knowledge 40 years ago would certainly be considered an "expert".

He sounds like he originally came from around Lancashire-Yorkshire area, Northern England, around 80 miles from where I live. No idea if that's right or not, it's just a guess.

Ironically, my YT rolled onto the next vid after playing this one... Fireball tool "best anti-spatter sprays" shows JUST how far we've came since Craig's video... nowhere!

must be something to Tip Tig SpaceX has possibly switched to welding the newest rockets with it.

    Question

any substantial difference in welding / manufacturing techniques between these bulk heads and and MK-1 / MK-2?

Almost everything is different. These parts are stamped vs manually bump-formed & TIP TIG welded vs flux core. Higher precision, stronger joints & 20% mass reduction.

Also using Friction Stir welding for some processes

TIP TIG is a pretty awesome process. Basically a hot wire TIG process with a pulse vibration sent through the wire to agitate the weld puddle.

Hot wire TIG was always thought of as a very high quality and high speed process, this is a refinement of that again.
