Newbie learning to weld

Howdy ya'll

I'm a newbie here and before about a month ago had never welded anything. My primary desire to start welding was to fix some rust on my 1990 Ford F250.
I bought a Weldpro 155 from Amazon. This welder is dual voltage and can do stick and MIG. I wish I had found this site before buying a welder. So far the Weldpro seems fine for sheet metal but I know I could have done better.

I have lots of reading and practicing to do.

I know what you mean. Making that first cut into my truck was nerve racking. But it turned out ok. It might not look professional but the end result is nice and smooth after filling in some rough spots with bondo. I cut some pieces out of a doner truck at Pick N Pull. Once painted you won’t be able to tell. This is the rear window frame.
