Amateur Stick Welder
Hello, I’m a new member, but not so new to welding. I first started as a young teen because my father and grandfather were struggling to get good welds, and somehow I had a knack. I continued to be the family welder just for our own steel projects. I’ve tried cast iron with some luck. It’s not my favorite, but sometimes necessary. Most of the time I have used one of our red Lincoln AC welders, and when I was more active, bought a Miller mig machine. I just came upon a Miller 180 AC/DC stick machine with the crank dial. That will afford me to weld with DC!
Thanks for having me part of the group, Peter.

Re: Amateur Stick Welder
Welcome! You will like the available choices with DC, both with rod selection and the ability to change polarity. I had DC availability at work but all by work at home was done on an old Craftsman 230 amp machine from the 70's & it's still going strong!
