    Welding Instructor during Covid-19 lockdown

Greetings, I started my welding career in 1979 with Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL. I was hired to teach their welding classes full time in 2009. With the recent governor edict to lock down everything and make schools do online learning it has presented new challenges in how educators are required to teach students how to weld without having the resources available. What are your thoughts?

Not possible. What are you supposed to do, supply everybody with all the welding equipment to use at home?

Welcome! Have you considered "wireless" welding? LOL On a serious note there are many educational challenges that affect teaching of the trades and vocational schools that have a "hands on" approach, no good answer here IMO.

How about getting to look right here and read for the time being. When they have issues they can make contact with YOU thru this system. At least they won't be jumping cold. Hands on is just not possible because of the force feeding of the virus.

My guess: pritzker couldn’t care less about welding. Probably things go on as before after the election.
