    Hose Crimping Pliers?

Hi Wondering where I could buy a hose crimper for crimping ferrels on Oxy Act. and air line hose etc.
I see some of the Vicegrip plier type But they seem to be limited to 1/4" hose. I would like to be able to crimp up to 1/2" hose. Thanks for any advice.

Usually the same place you get your fittings from. Good ones aren't cheap. I usually buy a new hose, its cheaper. One of my welding suppliers does torch, regulator, and hose repairs. Maybe someone near you does too.

I have the Western set that has 1/4" and 3/8" sized hose crimp holes on the vice grips.

Also have this universal bench mounted crimp tool that will crimp multiple sizes, including 1/2". It's a lot more expensive, but works well.

I prefer the Oetiker 2 ear clamps way better than the brass ferrules.

    Agree.
Oetiker is the standard for food service pressure lines /soda etc.

think my old Ford pickup had a few here and there also....

if you never heard of them they are similar to Shark bite clamps.

Used to be you could get fittings for OA hoses from Western supply that had tapered nipple that you screwed in to the hose after putting on the ferrule with no crimping. I liked them, no crimp and completely reusable.

Those would be my first choice if available otherwise Oetiker clamps as others have mentioned.

I love Oetikers too. My hose repair kits all have the vise grip style crimper. Not nearly as effective as this hammer style. They just work every time.

I just bought a pair of Oetikers that crimps from front and side. Hoping they will help in a few spots inside machinery.

That would be handy. But is the plier head itself bigger in size?

For the amount they get used these days they will do me. If I was doing crimps every day I would have some sort compound action fitted with a hydraulic assist setup. The hands ain`t what they used to be.
