I had a '98 Ranger 4x4, that thing didn't like anything more than about 400# in the back. I used it as a welding rig for 3 weeks once with a Trailblazer 302 in the back, it wasn't happy.

I’m guessing the rock was about 10 thousand pounds.

The rock may have been about 1700lbs. based on the size of the skid steer. No where near 10,000lbs. though. I'm guessing the owner wasn't too worried if the truck got wrecked.

The rock did land with serious authority. The thud when the axle hit the bumpstops kinda says it all.

I hauled a 100 hp electric motor in a Ranger once, I managed to get it to the motor shop but luckily I never had to stop in a hurry.

Getting it in was easy enough (with a front end loader), but I wonder how the owner plans to get it out? It WILL fold up that tailgate like a matchbox if they try to go over the tailgate and I suspect even if the take the tailgate off it's still going to put a serious V in the back of the bed of the truck when they get it near the edge where there's not a lot of support.

OTOH I wonder if he even got the rock home before it broke lose when he tried to slow down and it came crashing into the rear of the cab of the tuck and taking out the rear window in the process?

I loaded a pallet of sod in my Ranger, had to take some out, and lay it across the hood to bring the front end down. Still seemed like I was driving to the sky. Fun ride, luckily only 10 miles.

Haha. At our sales yard we would never do that. For one thing our pallets are a full 48” wide so they wouldn’t fit inside your wheel wells.

Secondly because of liability we refuse to overload a customers vehicle no matter what they say.



Our sales mantra is make MULTIPLE safe trips with your pickup or pay US to place the product curb side on on your prepped area.

That is very cool! It seems a big investment, but if steep side hill is the problem, OSHA must love it.

Yep, there are also tracked models and ones with mulchers on em'... sky's the limit I've seen some of these things go on a slope a billy goat would be scared of

Local search and rescue use them. Prolly to run a beer up the mountain to you until the fog lifts for the chopper.

Had them on the Kesmac also. Tried to convince the manufacturer to go in with me for a batch of custom polished aluminum wheels. Told them it would be great for trade shows..
