    FCAW Drive Roller Questions...

I recently picked up a yeswelder 205DS. It came with a knurled .9-1.0 roller but I want to run .030 wire. Will .9mm run .030 wire? I've had to purchase out of Taiwan a .8mm drive roller for it. Also, I'm curious as to why there are .6mm knurled drive rollers but no .024 flux core wire?

They don't make .024" flux-core so have no idea what they would have knurled drive rolls.

My MIGs will. I dont know about yours. It likely will unless the groove is just way too deep.

Well that gives me the confidence to go ahead and try the .9mm... Thanks... I do want to run with the .030 wire and not the .035 since the material is 18 gauge...

Yes, the .9mm knurled roller works on .8mm wire... I've just finished the MAW part of my project and am moving on to the FCAW (lighter gauge) parts of it so still a bit of learning to do...

Just FYI, I have the same welder and am running .023 (.6mm) solid wire with the .030 (.8mm) roller it came with - works great with medium tension on the roller.

Good to know about the FCAW.
