    Bucket cutting edge

I used to buy bucket cutting edge at Adirondack Road Materials. They are gone. Last bucket, I bought AR steel & cut my own bevel, that is a big job with my equipment. I'd like to buy 1 x 6 beveled edge, 25" long, in Manganese, or AR or whatever works best.

I'm in VT, but near NY State. I have a son near Saratoga NY.

Get a wornout D-4 or equivalent cutting edge and make your own. It's easier to cut the bevel on.

Too bad you are not closer. I have 3 unused 5' Cat cutting edges. I'd give you one.

    Re: Bucket cutting edge

Whenever I've had to do a custom bucket repair/replacement I went to the nearest Cat dealer and perused the current GET (ground engaging tools) catalog and almost always found the parts/pieces that were close to what I needed for the project. If I used Cat shanks and tips on another makers machine I would stamp the part numbers on a piece of 10 ga. steel and weld it to the bucket in an area where it wouldn't be defaced (hopefully).

You might check your local machine shops. Mine stock multiple sizes and thicknesses of cutting edge for their own rebuild jobs, and I just buy from them.
