Picked up this litter welder to run until I get my old Hobart running. It's a 1980 Acklands G225, same as a Miller AEAD200LE, sat inside it's whole life, not used in a decade. Got her purring like a kitten, welds nice! More to come, need to finish my toolboxes.

Just tuck in the receiver tube and leave the horizontal tube where it is for a handy step.

Makes me want to get my old 78 PowerWagon back on the road again. 400cid, NP 435 transmission, NP 203 transfer case, Dana 60 rear, Dana somethin' front. Was a workhorse, and a pleasure to drive............just didn't like passing any gas station on the road without a stop-in

(Might be a Dana 40 on the front, cant' rightly remember)

You're in Saskatchewan so shouldn't be hard to round up some "Genuine Fire Resistant Saskatchewan Seal Skin Bindings" to hold that welder on the deck. Those are decent machines and became the Legend but replaced by the Bobcat models.

nice looking rig. that 360 is a brute. had 5-6 and were fantastic. worked for chrysler back then in mid 70's.

i didn't notice if you posted the dodges milage, if it hasn't been done yet, replace the timing chain with a double roller timing chain. first check what year dodge went to a steel chain. previous 318-360 timing chains had plastic coated gears and age and mileage made the plastic teeth break and fall off and chain would slip causing lots of problems.

Only has a 5 digit odometer, says 24,000 km, I'm guessing 224,000km. Looks like the engine has had work done, it's got a black block with blue heads. Now you've got me paranoid, no engine issues, but I'll put a double roller timing set in this winter.

Ya this baby has stump pulling 4.56 gears.....I'm looking for a different rear with 3.54 to 3.73 gears. 3000RPM at 60mph is a little much!

Good catch, I haven't seen one of those plastic teeth gears in a while.
Don't like them. Had to change one for my mom on her Pontiac V8 once too. Only made it 90,000 miles before the teeth let go.

And weld some expanded metal on the step for traction.

Got a flatbed Ford dually in the yard that would do well for something like this. Always wanted to make it into a shop truck, especially since it's a 5sp manual transmission and full crew cab. Just gotta win the lottery first!
