Ohhh my next mission is to get the Hobart revived, and if successful I am thinking I will chop it 6". Took the wheels off and tossed her on the War Rig for a mock up, Ideally I'll have her sitting another 6" to the rear but had no help to line it up exactly where I want it.

There's a guy up in Canada that posts on YouTube, or used to. FieldRes, or something like that. You guys oughta get together. Both of you seem to like the old classic machines. He's probably got the first Lincoln ever built Guy used to post funny videos, but stopped, and removed them some time back.

For those who might be wondering why no updates.

Project on hold, squished 2 fingers a work few weeks ago, popped the tips like sausages bursting on the grill, ripped the nails up at the roots, cuts behind the nails to the bone and shattered part of the one finger tip.....so off work for a bit.

You're lucky to still have them, I had a similar smash on the pinky and ring finger tip on my left hand 14 years ago and lost 10mm of the ring finger. The pinky tip still looks a little flattened. And I still have issues in cold weather.

I crushed a finger on dump truck tailgate but thankfully it mostly healed. Worked with a guy once who lost a finger and got $17K in compensation for it. It got squished under one of the plungers on a 1/4" x 10' plate shear. That had to hurt!

Thanks! Ya it's healing well, nails haven't fallen off yet. Took a welding glove and "modified" it to wear so I don't bump my hand or hook my nails. Soaked the fingers of the gloves with superglue so they're rock hard. Doc say's minimum 3 more weeks off....yay.......so been touring the country roads taking pics of old welders and buying some too

I hope those fingers heal well... it sucks not being able to use your hands for manual work for a while.

Regarding the truck... do you plan on touching up the suspension of that vehicle? It looks like right now it has zero suspension travel... Stiffer springs or adding new leaves to the current leaf spring packs could be a nice improvement. I know nothing about the suspension setup of that truck.

It's got room to travel 4", welder sits it down 1". Has overload leafs on it and they're stiff as hell, hit railway crossing unloaded and the suspension doesn't move very much. Rides better loaded.

Not much to update. headlights, clearance lights, 2007 F250 rear leather seat install, lifted the deck 2'' and put quad diamond stacks on.

decent trucks with a stick shift are hard to find around here, I shopped around for 6 months and found one but the only thing that was any good on the truck was probly one lug nut. So i had to sewttle for an automatic, still learnin how to drive an automatic on these mountains with a 15000 pd truck 5 years later

So how is the fingers doin? And did you you get that old hobart workin? Looks like some nice pipeliners you picked up though

Thanks, ya I scored on this truck, paid $800 for it, put a front rotor, rear shoes, power steering hoses and had her on the road. Have since put fuel pump, alternator, master cylinder, ignition module, head lights, clearance lights, and tires, it's a sweet rig, daily drive it too.

Fingers are ok, have about half my regular strength in my hand. Cold weather sucks.

Hobart's been on the back burner.

Got the 74 Lincoln unseized and welding though! will polish her up this winter.
