    Squat Rack Lever Arm Attachment

Iím a bit meathead and with the current fitness apocalypse going on I decided to add some pieces to my home gym setup.

Rogue Fitness charges $900ish for their setup which is admittedly a bit nicer. But, itís $900.

I designed mine to use a 5/8Ē shaft held in a couple of Oilite bushings. The same way Rogue does it.

Rogue uses a side pin which my rack does not have holes for so i decided to do a retaining pin on the spine.

Anyway, hereís my design I came up with and the progress thus far

Parts were all CNC plasma cut. The more critical holes were hand drilled.

Set up the plasma to cut all the tube holes as well. This was a bit of a learning experience I donít use it for tube much itís tricky to align it.

Also 3D printed some spacers for the rack to remove wobble. Usually this is done with UHMW plastic but for now Iíll try this and see if it holds up.

Thatís all i got for now. Iím waiting on 2Ē tube for the plate pegs.

    PLA 40%

I don’t really expect it to hold up, it was just easier than ordering UHMW for at least seeing if it works.

Gotcha I can't remember but will your printer handle any of the nylon filaments? some of them work really good for that sort of thing... and tough as nails.

I’m not really sure I’ve only used PLA.

    It’s a ender 3 I’m gonna say no.

Oh yeah, you'd have to change your hotend and bed plate as you need 250C+

Excellent design on the weight rack thing, but those dividers are what caught my eye! You make them yourself? Never seen a set like that before!

Awesome work! Could you just use UMHW tape to take the wobble out? Or not enough thickness?

Man that is some awesome work! I love the fact that you designed it on CAD and followed all the way through, one stop shop. Ten thumbs up!

The compass is actually one of those Rare times harbor freight knocked it out of the Park...

    https://www.harborfreight.com/6-in-l...der-63659.html

And the UHMW has to be 3/8” thick. I drilled and tapped the mounts already.

By the way for the non gym rats this is the end goal

    Updating some projects.

I did end up finishing these. They work exactly as intended however I will say they're a bit of a hassle to set up (a lot because of my small space and fear of bashing into the walls)

Fun project regardless. Nice to do some passion projects here and there.

Awesome! I always wondered how the name brands get by charging soooo much for basic steel tube structures... Did you make a guesstimation to see how much did you put into them? Just to have a real perspective of a pro-job (If I were to do it myself I would basically butcher it freehand).
