    New Miller Bobcat 260

Has anyone used the new Miller Bobcat 260's yet? How is the build quality of the newer millers? I am on the edge about pulling the trigger for a new one.

Build quality on the Miller 250 bobcats has always been very good. They don't just weld near as nice as a trailblazer or a Lincoln that's in the same class.

I'm curious, what difference do you see in how they weld that isn't as good?

The Trailblazers use a 3 phase generator rectified to DC for weld output, Very smooth, stable arc. The Lincolns now use their "chopper" technology that is supposed to be very smooth too.

I've had a couple of Bobcats and never had any complaints about them doing heavy 7018 work or running a VS wire feeder on CV. But didn't care for the way they ran 6010 on pipe, plus having to crank the fine current control to run a big grinder or chopsaw and then having to remember to turn it back to the original weld setting was a pain too.
