Reliability of quick-disconnects for MIG gas hose connections

I wish to install check valves from my Ar and CO₂ cylinders to a Y-valve to my MIG unit.

Are quick-disconnects reliable or best to stay with regular threaded connectors?

Looking to purchase Western Argon Inert Gas Regulator to Hose Quick Connect/Connector Disconnect Set, QDB33 that includes check valves.

I assume quick-disconnects ARE reliable given that Oxy/Fuel torches are always quick-disconnect, just want to make sure before I unload some coin ($28!!!) for these:

Never heard of any problems and they use similar quick connects for oxygen and acetylene(gas) which is much more dangerous. They are all just a little different so they can't be interchanged. Had someone come in the welding supply and want to have connectors for his torch that could be hooked together when the the torch was removed. I said they're all different so he asked about using air couplers. I then explained joining your oxy/fuel hoses together has the potential to cause a serious explosion and that's why they're different. He was completely clueless and was a journeyman maybe even a B pressure welder.

In my Experience: Western is junk - I have witnessed Western failure,
right out of the box, [on first installation] - and countless failures [in a
first year of service] . . . maybe they have improved ? . . .

Spend the big money - and buy Asia Quality . . .

'Quick-Couples' are designed for gas containment, in a lineal load . . .

I have over twenty pairs - most 25 years + old - and nary a failure -
AKA gas leakage . . .

I run a Y-Splitter [Y-valve] down from a L-TEC/5007 regulator - It's a
Nitrogen/Co2/Argon/Helium combo - via a Turret Bubble Tube . . .

I - 'hard plumb' the drop hoses from the splitter - because . . .

If you drape [impart a lateral load] on any 'Quick-Couple' - you are
accelerating its' failure . . .

Koike are Japanese I believe and are good but not as easy to find. There's cheaper copies of Koike's too but I'd get original if I could find them. Make sure the check valves on what ever brand you buy are flowing the right direction. Speaking of lawsuits if Western were that bad I think there would be lawsuits or they would be pulled off the market. Never hurts to check any connections with soapy water.

Not having any problems with the Western quick connects (inert gas) but they are fairly new.
Those Koike fittings look very nice. I would have bought them if I knew about them. It appears they are available from Airgas .
I may look into using them on my ox/act to switch out torch handles.

Not having much luck with quick disconnects I went with hand nut couplers from WeldTec. Get them in either water or gas.
