    240c Welding Machines that can d 120v

What is the best 240v welding machine that can also be used on a 120v circuit?

Right now i just bought the "125 flux core chicago electric" to mess around with for now until i get a reasonable 120v machine. I know how to use all processes but TIG is the one that im least trained in i only go and introduction to it. But i do want to try TIG out and actually get good with it and was wondering if its possible to tig weld on 120v atleast for aluminum and stuff even if you have to rig the welding gun to be able to do it. Probably not recommended not sure. But my uncle is a licensed electrician so he may be able to rig it safely.

Best Dual Voltage Tig machine is a pretty wide open request.

Since you mentioned aluminum it will have to be an AC/DC machine so that adds $$ over a simple machine that will only weld steel, a DC machine.

All of the big brands have a machine for you.

Just ever home in usa has 240 volts.
    1) One way is to two 120volt receipt one one each leg
    2) use dryer or range plug
    3) go to meter box and hope you have a spot to put a 240 volt circuit.
Most TIG machines need a 40 amp 240 volt circuit 50 amp would be better.

Iíve got a Primeweld 225 that runs on 110/220.
It will put out about 100 amps on 110v.
Works fine for steel up to about 1/8Ē
I havenít tried it on aluminum so canít comment on that.

That sounds like it is good welder.
The best part is you can go to 240 volts for heavier welding.

I have tried 120 two times both times I was not happy. But having the choice of 120 volt and 240 volt is a good way to go.

I can use any of my 240V welders on a 120V circuit, and the vast majority of them are not dual-voltage.
