    Wal Mart Electrodes

I was at my local Wally World today and as I strolled through the tool isle I noticed these 1/16” electrodes. Notice the packaging makes no mention of its AWS electrode number. 6013/6011/7014 etc. I guess it makes no difference to those who buy electrodes at Walmart anyway.

    I'd almost bet it's 6011 or 13.

I would think it would say something on the box, thats's what I hated about Lincoln's naming conventions, I always had to try to figure out JETWELD etc. dangit, just put the numbers on it so I know what the heck it is!

The only thing about Lincoln is some of their names, Jet Weld, Fleet weld, etc might be older than the AWS numbering system. I agree, I don’t know their naming system. I only use AWS numbers

I remember many (15 or so) years ago the wally world around here briefly carried electrodes. Didn't have them all that long, that's for sure. Went in a week or so later and walked past where they were and there were trolling motors there instead. I googled that part number out of curiosity, it seems they're 6013.

Sounds reasonable. 6013 is a good 1/16 rod for those little Mickey Mouse welders they sell there

    Re: Wal Mart Electrodes

Coming from Walmart/China probably doesn’t have any AWS certification. Probably equal to 2013

Maybe a good coat hanger would be just as good. Lol

Campbell Hausfeld is too ashamed to say what they are. There's no AWS designation because you'd never even be able to hold an arc using a Campbell Hausfeld door stop... er welder. Maybe they're brilliant and finally have a stick electrode equivalent to E71T-GS flux-core. It too does not have an AWS designation. I always tell inquiring minds the GS stands for generally -hitty.

Pretty pricey for crap electrodes. The 1/16" Forney rods are 1lb. instead of a 1/2lb. and still a lower price. $20 for a 1/2lb. tube of rods and $109.00 for the welder. Might as well just throw your money away.

    Re: Wal Mart Electrodes

If you do a Google search on the part number you'll find a lot of places selling them list them as 6013....

The problem with even really cheap 1/16 stick electrode
isn’t the quality but the fact that it’s a 1/16 electrode.
