    question on welding tanks

Recently moved to a town in BC called Kelowna, the welding tanks got taken up on their sides, so I have left the acetylene upright for over a week, I would think that should allow the gas to settle back into the filler in the tank of acetylene, what do you think?

Should be fine. They usually tell you 24 hours if laid on there side. It's more so the acetone doesn't leak out and settles back in the cylinder.

A week is way more time than necessary. 30 minutes is considered sufficient.

I seen wear lay tank down got there location turn tank up and start using the tank.

If you are worried about tank, best way is contact your gas supplier.

After a week will be fine. Depending on who you talk to at a gas supplier these days, they might tell you not to use it and exchange it for a new one.

I doubt Airgas will take a bottle that has laid on it's side, need to rent a bottle.

How would they know it had been laid on its side?

Just go exchange the thing if you’re that worried about it

Some suppliers say, if it's laying on its side for a hour, stand upright an hour before using.

Our cert theory test, correct answer was 24hrs. Our largest gas supplier, BOC, says 8 hrs. I've seen acetone squirting out of a full cylinder after only 1 hr. Very dangerous.
