Either that or trigger sticking. Just throwing that in.
Hi everyone,
My little 135 is such a reliable machine it decided not to stop welding! I was using it last night for some short beads and when I finished one and released the trigger I noticed that the gas didn't stop flowing. Then I also realized that the gun was still energized. The wire had stopped feeding, though. So I shut the regulator and flipped the off switch and still heard a humming noise! Finally unplugged it to get it to stop. I'm guessing I have a sticking relay or something like that. Any ideas?
Thanks

The wire does stop feeding when I release the trigger so I think that's ok. Guess I'm gonna be a welder surgeon this afternoon.
Took the cover off and blew out all the dust and junk from the last umpteen years. Lightly tapped on the relay and now it's working normally. I'm guessing the relay is at the end of it's life cycle. Probably should order a new one so I'll have it on hand when it finally dies.
You might consider spraying some electronic contact cleaner in the relay if it's not a sealed one. If it's sticking and/or slightly corroded that may help.
Good idea. I'll try that if (when) it happens again.
