I'm not a Lincoln expert, but I'm pretty sure it's 2007. The serial number is where you'll find it. The U1 means it was made in the U.S. Newer machines will have M for Mexico. The third and fourth digit are the year...07, so 2007.

    Guys,

Thanks you both. This machine is a back burner project. I'm just seeing this thread.

I'm finding that the engine runs fine in low idle and full throttle but I am getting only 33ish volt AC and no 240 volts. When trying to strike an arc I get only a spark at best. This is on both AC and DC.

    Thanks,

    Tom

I'm over on the other side of Pinnacle from you at the corner of Old Mill and Tillotson Rds. I should have a GTX 225 service manual in a pdf. Let me get a look at it later this evening and maybe I can figure out the most likely cause(s) and get back to you.

Off the top of my head though, I'd be looking at the slip rings and whether they need cleaning and that the brushes are in good shape and making good contact followed by a check of the flashing voltage (2.5 VDC) at the brushes and 12VDC at the circuit board. And given the condition of the face plate and case I'd advise a good general cleaning and inspection of the interior of the welder to be sure there's no major corrosion or vermin damage before running it again.

I make no claim to being an expert but I have refurbished a number of these over the years (maybe 12-14?) and I'd be glad to stop by the next time I'm at the gas station or post office in the thriving metropolis of Pinnacle.

    Best regards,

    Lance,

I'm going to open it up and take a look the engine wise I have it back to life. Engine drive machines are foreign to me. I'm sending you a PM.

    Thanks,

    Tom
