You can't help someone like this. You have to leave it go. They aren't going to listen anyway.
Not possible. No one here is like that.

He claims I'm not qualified to give repair advice on equipment because I'm not a mechanic, among other things. I explained the differences between the different wire feed processes and that Flux-Core is not an inert process. Man I sure felt like telling him he's not qualified to give welding advice. Really doubt he's going to admit he was wrong but curious how arrogant he's going to be with his excuses. What's the best way to deal with people like this?
I was over there, read it. I ignored him. People split hairs. This guy wants to impress with his ability to recite what he just read on the internet.

MIG is metal with inert gas.

Flux core is flux without inert gas.

Dual shield is a different sort of flux core, but it still needs inert gas.............or does it? It wouldn't work with argon, or helium. Aren't they inert gasses. Gotta have some reactive component in the gas to make it work.

We can Pis$ our lives away trying to out vocabulary each other, but why? Three different processes that can be done with one machine.
An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
