Tedder repair

Little repair I did today in Beeville Texas.

The draw bar crossmember has been twisted or broken at some point. One of the hands on the ranch “fixed it”



Unfortunately, the drive shaft is coming into contact with the crossmember now due to the added material on top.




I removed the draw bar and crossmember, started cleaning up the mess.







Used a little piece of scrap for padding the crossmember


Set the cross member in place. I used a piece of 2x2x1/4 to replace the very thin walled previous piece (1/8 I believe) I didn’t measure it.







I didn’t have any Vermeer yellow handy so has to go with the sunshine.

Hay equipment is some of the most flimsy stuff on the planet, especially rakes and tedders. It's like lifetime work to keep them together.

You might know but most wouldn’t believe the money I’ve made working in this stuff lol. It’s insane

That 535 twine baler in the back was a money printing machine before I got it all well sorted out
